April Lockhart
April Lockhart born 4 July 1995. She started with guitar and piano in the 7th grade, which ignited her interest. In April, when she was 12 years old when she wrote her first single called Different. When she was 14 April spent a lot of her time writing song ideas and practicing her musical skills. The following months, she began taking writing excursions along with her father in LA and NY. April was also able to add other themes in the tune "Take My Hand" for a few of her acquaintances who faced issues such as peer pressurization disabilities, and even teenage suicide. Lockhart is a partner at the well-known clean beauty brand Ilia and is also a lifestyle blogger with a huge following of her own. The truth is that she was born without a left hand. This creates her unique. But this isn't the only aspect that makes her unique. Lockhart acknowledges her handicap on her Instagram account, but she doesn't make it the focus of it. The message? It's this: We all have numerous identities. We're much way more diverse than we think we're. Lockhart speaks via video in Nashville. "I do not intend to let it define my existence. I don't want to only be recognized as an expert in disabilities. It doesn't impact my everyday routine. I do my normal activities and have adapted to my disabilities. Since it's a an integral part of me and something worthy of discussion. Self-acceptance is a lifelong marathon but Lockhart is a true inspiration for this aspect. Even so, Lockhart admits to going through periods of feeling uneasy about her appearance as well as wearing clothes that showed her arms. She dresses according to her preferences and proudly posts pictures of herself in the outfits she picks out on social media. The key to self-love for her is the fact that it's not a destination. It's true for all, no matter what their level of insecurity. I think it is important to be surrounded by those who are able to know you.
