April Lockhart

April Lockhart was born on July 4, 1995. The seventh grade was when she began playing guitar and piano classes which sparked her enthusiasm for music writing. April's very first song was titled Different which she composed at the age of 12. She spent lots of time at 14 writing songs and practicing the music. Her writing began alongside her dad at home in NY and LA soon after. The month of April also included other themes in the book, Take My Hand, for her pals who were struggling with disabilities, peer pressure or even suicidal thoughts. Lockhart collaborates with popular clean beauty brand Ilia as well as a lifestyle influencer with her own large following. Lockhart was born with no left hand and that is part of who she is--but it's hardly her whole story. In the end, Lockhart's profile does not shy away from her disability, but the focus isn't on it in any way. The message? The message is that we are more than simply our physical body. Our identities are intricate and we contain many different dimensions. Lockhart has stated on video she didn't want to be defined solely by her handicap. She doesn't want to become an advocate for disabled people who only speaks about it. There are many different aspects to Lockhart. My daily life isn't directly affected by disability. I just live my normal day-to-day life and discover the solutions I have for my problems. Because it's also a component of me and something worth talking about. Lockhart who is an inspiration to accept oneself in all aspects and is currently on a lengthy process to attain it. She admits that she has experienced periods when she felt uncomfortable in wearing certain clothing styles which exposed her arms. Today, she wears anything she wants. and she shares images on social networks. It's a journey is the key thing I don't know when you will arrive, she says of self-love. It's a trip, but I'm not sure you'll ever arrive. I think that having people with you who understand you and can see your emotions is important as they'll be the ones whom you can count on to remind you about what your worries about?
